As a construction technology competence center, the technical authority based in Berlin, DIBt performs numerous public tasks in the field of construction technology on behalf of the 16 federal states and the federal government. The focus is always on the safety of structures and the protection of people and the environment.

Around 220 employees contribute to the institute’s tasks. DIBt’s technical instructors are experts in their field. In addition, around 570 volunteer experts from research, business and administration advise us. Cooperation and dialogue with partners and experts – at national, European and international level – is of great importance for the work of DIBt.
